When KASE members have a job related problem, they can call us for solutions.
The Chief Steward Program assists our members with personnel questions, grievance filing, Personnel Board appeal preparation and attorney referrals.
When our members need help on the job, we're there for them!
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS:
If you are a member of KASE and you have a question or problem relating to your state job, call us toll free at 1-800-248-5273 then ask to speak to a Chief Steward. We promise to keep your name and problem confidential. After checking your membership status, a Chief Steward will contact you to answer your questions or help you solve your job related problems.
LEGAL ASSISTANCE:
KASE members who are terminated, suspended without pay or demoted, may be eligible for legal assistance from the KASE Legal Defense Fund. All members automatically receive a free 30 minute legal consultation and a discount on legal services through our general counsel. For more information, ask your Chief Steward or call us toll free at 1-800-248-5273.
MEMBERSHIP LIABILITY PROTECTION:
Most public employees don't realize that they can be sued personally and individually for doing their job! They also don't realize that their employer has no legal obligation to provide them with an attorney or to pay any financial judgment that is levied against them.
EVERY KASE member has access to a dedicated legal defense fund. If you are a KASE member member and you are sued for doing your job, call us immediately at 1-800-248-5273.
